Tigo has appointed Amir Abdelazim as the new Chief Technology and Information Officer (CTIO). He will be responsible for managing all of Tigo’s network operations to ensure the delivery of a modern, robust and resilient network that provides the best internet and voice experience for customers.
Amir joins Tigo Ghana from Tigo Rwanda, where he had been the CTIO since 2015. Prior to that, he was Tigo Tanzania’s Strategic Quality Director and won ‘Best Improved Network in Africa at the 2013 AfricaCom Awards held in Cape Town.
He later moved on to manage the Strategic Quality team in Millicom Africa operations. Commenting on Mr. Abdelazim’s appointment, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Tigo Ghana, Roshi Motman said: “Our primary focus continues to be building a world class network that supports the needs of customers, both enterprise and consumers segments.
With Amir’s considerable experience and commitment to network quality, I am confident we will be able to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers.”
Mr Abdelazim assured of customer satisfaction and experience as his primary focus “as the business accelerates and consolidates on all the gains made particularly within the last two years”.
“The team has already done a fantastic job on the network with multiple million dollar investments to ensure continuous service availability,” he added.
Amir holds a BSc. in Communication and Electronics. He is a Certified Project Management Professional and holds an MBA in International Business and Executive Education from the London Business School.
