Tigo reduces call rates for subscribers

Accra, Aug. 8, GNA – Tigo Mobile Network on Monday announced reduction in its call rates and introduced four new call plans to make communication on the network one of the most affordable in Ghana.

Tigo subscribers can now call other Tigo lines for only seven pesewas (7Gp) per minute.

A statement copied to the Ghana News Agency on the reduction said, the reduction was as a result of consumer insights it gathered that beyond innovative and solution based products enjoyed by subscribers, customers also want to be able to make calls at lower rates.

It said Tigo regards every subscriber as unique, hence the decision to give all customers the opportunity to call other Tigo subscribers for only 7Gp per minute or choose any of the four new call plans that suits their needs.

The new call plans are: Triple Bonus, Triple Bonus IDD, Super Zone and Stop the Clock.

Triple Bonus, subscribers get triple bonus to call all local networks whenever they reload airtime with scratch cards or Tigo credit transfer. To subscribe to this plan, you just dial *555# and select 1 from the menu.

If you choose Triple Bonus IDD, you get triple bonus to call USA, Canada, UK Fixed Lines, India & China or other Tigo lines when you reload airtime with scratch card or Tigo credit transfer. To subscribe, you also dial *555# and select 2 from the menu

Tigo Super Zone allows you to call any network in Ghana at amazingly low rates from one location of your choice. To subscribe to this plan all a subscriber has to do is to dial *555# and select 3. You then dial 665 and follow prompts to set your current location as your Super zone.

Tigo Stop the Clock will allow you to talk for 10 minutes to Tigo lines and pay for only three (3) minutes or talk to your friends and family on other networks for five (5) minutes and pay for three (3) minutes. To Stop the Clock all subscribers have to do is dial *555# and select 4.

Subscription to all these call plans are free.

According to the statement, if subscribers did not choose any of these call plans, they could simply enjoy Tigo’s new reduced call rate of 7GP per minute for Tigo to Tigo Calls or 12Gp per minute to other local networks.

According to Tigo, subscribers should join the Tigo family and share in the savings.
