Total Ghana, one of the country’s leading oil marketing companies, has introduced Excellium fuel at its pumps as part of raft of measures to give customers more value for their money.

The Excellium range of products comes in three different forms namely Excellium Diesel, Excellium Super and Excellium Super 95.

According to the Managing Director of Total Ghana Olivier Van Parys, the Excellium technology composed of a number of additives like detergent and anti-oxidant to improve the efficiency of vehicle engine.

The introduction of the new products have been occasioned by the fact that car manufacturers are making great efforts to improve their engines in terms of performance, efficiency, cleanliness and as such fuel retailers must provide a dynamic fuel that correspond with the evolution in technology.

The distinct characteristic of Excellium, Mr. Van Parys explained, is its ability to enhance engine performance which ultimately leads to lower fuel consumption as well as lower pollution level from the vehicle.

“We have put in efforts to ensure that Excellium technology prevents fouling and accumulation of deposit in the engines which enhances its overall performance,” he said.

In developing the technology, a team of researchers drawn from around the world went through over 500 laboratory analysis and testing to validate the Excellium technology.

“Ghana becomes the fourth country in Africa to experience the product after it was launched in Morocco, Ivory Coast and Uganda.”

The novel technology, the Total MD said, would come at no extra to the consumer as it would be retailed at the prevailing fuel prices.

Also speaking at the event, Transport Minister Fifi Kwetey commended the oil marketing company for the innovation it has championed so far in the 60 years of its existence in Ghana.

“Introducing this product will help consumers save money and bring satisfaction and help strengthen the environmental management system to ensure efficient transport system,” he said.
