Accra, Sept 10, GNA - Total Ghana on Thursday launched activities to mark 50 years of the company's operations in the country.
The golden jubilee celebrations, which will run over the next three months to December, include planned activities such as a corporate gala of major stakeholders who have supported the company over the years, sporting activities, customer appreciation days, donation to health institutions and staff family get together.
Mr Jonathan Molapo, Managing Director Total Ghana, said Total was scaling up its investments as a demonstration of commitment to the Ghanaian market and set to increase its market share with quality products that meet the demands of the public.
Currently, the company is the oil marketing company with the largest network coverage of 225 service stations across the 10 regions of the country offering services across aviation, bitumen, mining and manufacturing sectors.
Mr Molapo said the company had acquired the ISO Quality Management Standards Certification to further ensure that processes guaranteed quality to customers.
The company is also deepening local initiative and enterprise through its Young Dealer Scheme, which involves identifying the best attendants at existing service stations and are then developed to become independent contractors who manage service stations.
Mr Molapo said Total then gives the selected individuals loans as seed money to operate service stations until they were financially ready to stand on their feet.
The company also carries out social interventions in road safety, health and education sectors.
Mr Molapo said Total will continue to take advantage of the favourable business environment to enhance its presence in the market and scale the stiff competition in the retail market.
