Tourist Board gives ultimatum to hotel and restaurant operators

Koforidua, July 22, GNA - The Eastern Regional Office of the Ghana Tourist Board has given hotel and restaurant operators in the region who have not paid for and collected their 2003 operational and licences up to August 8 or would be closed down and be prosecuted. This was in a statement issued and signed by the Regional Manager of the board, Mr Abubakr-Sadiq Braimah, on Tuesday. It said the decision was as a result of the refusal of the operators to pay and collect their operational licences since January.

The affected hotels are Asaa Guest House, Kade, First Stop Guest , Social Release GTBouse, Asamakese, St Micheal Motel, Donkorkrom, District Assembly Guest House, Afram Plains, Afoanimaa Hotel, Atibie and Finsbury Park, Apedwa. The restaurants are Paradise Gardens and Bula Spot, both in Koforidua as well as Brew Beat, in Asamankese.
