US firm to take over Bonsa Tyre Company

Bonsaso (W/R), Aug 11, GNA - Sierra Afrique International, a US Company, has expressed interest in the defunct Bonsa Tyre Company Limited that is on divestiture.

Mr Collins Opoku-Mensah, Technical Manager of Bonsa Tyre Company in charge of operations, said the Divestiture Implementation Committee had been notified and negotiations for the take over were in their final stages.

He was speaking to some participants at the on-going Western Region Homecoming Summit who visited the company on Tuesday. Mr Kofi Amankwah Opoku, the General Manager, said although the Company had stopped production since 1999 most of its equipment was in good condition.

He said it would cost about 10 million dollars to get the company back into operation.
