The Vice-President, Mr. Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur left Accra Tuesday June 2, for Cape Town, South Africa to attend the 2015 World Economic Forum on Africa.
The forum which starts from June 3 to June 5, 2015, will attracts high profile personalities including Heads of State and Government especially on the continent, civil society organizations, the academia , the private sector and the media.
The event which is themed on "Where Next for Africa's capital markets " would address the following dimensions including , integrating and harmonizing cross border regulations , increasing long term and corporate bonds and advancing initial public offering activity.
It would also host a conference on dialogue, launch a report on Africa's competitiveness and organize a news conference on Poverty on the continent.
Personalities billed to speak at the forum include, Messrs Hendrik duToit, Chief Executive Officer, Investec Asset management, United Kingdom; John Rwangombwa, Governor of the National Bank of Rwanda, Raymond McGuire, Head, Global Banking, Citi, U.S.A. and Ms Maria Ramos, Chief Executive Officer, Barclays Africa Group, South Africa.
The Vice-President is expected to hold discussions with investors on the wings of the forum in a bid to attract more investment especially into the agricultural, mining and oil and gas sectors of the economy.
