Vodafone Ghana donates boxes of PPE to La Dadekotopon Municipal Assembly

To help mitigate the effects of the novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Vodafone Ghana Foundation has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the La Dadekotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA).

The supplies comprised sets of boxes of N95 face masks.

Speaking to the press, the Head of Vodafone Ghana Foundation, Mr. Amaris Nana A. Perbi stated that this is not their first time doing this donation.

He said from Wednesday June 3 to Friday June 5, 2020 they are going to Kumasi and Wa for another donation.

He added that, Vodafone Ghana cares about Ghanaians is this time of COVID-19, so they are doing things to help fight against the COVID-19.

“This is one of our many initiatives aimed at helping the country combat this global pandemic. We believe that the Assembly’s efforts can change the course of this pandemic by continuous detection, testing, isolation, treatment and sensitization of the public”.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of La Dadekotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA), Mr Solomon Kotey-Nikoi, who received the items expressed an appreciation to Vodafone Ghana Foundation.

“Vodafone has really done well and I can see the items brought are even getting taller than me. Vodafone has demonstrated through varied ways to be at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19 and we are most grateful for that,” he said.

He commended the telecom company for establishing a COVID-19 call centre and expressed an optimism that it will help to meet the health needs of the public.

Mr Solomon Kotey-Nikoi, appealed to other corporate organisations to emulate the gesture by Vodafone and go to their aid in the fight against the respiratory disease.
