Vodafone's Yolanda wins ‘Best Telecoms CEO’ award

Chief Executive of Vodafone Ghana, Yolanda Cuba has emerged as the best Telecommunications CEO of the Year at the just ended Ghana Entrepreneur & Corporate Executive Awards (GECEA) held at Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.

According to the award organisers, Yolanda’s award category is bestowed on a successful “corporate executive who has demonstrated corporate vision, corporate excellence, innovation and deserved to be honoured”.

Through her agenda to ignite Ghana’s digital revolution, Yolanda has exhibited a will to win through her comprehensive strategy to transform the telecommunication giant.

Commenting after receiving the recognition, Yolanda said: “Tonight’s award testifies to the strides we have made at Vodafone to relentlessly drive digital inclusion in our transformation journey. We launched and sustained Instant schools - a digital educational platform that is currently giving free extra classes for students across several academic cycles in Ghana. It builds into an ethos by Vodafone to ensure all children of school-going age can have access to free education on the go without having to pay for it.”

She added, “We also launched SuperCare – a dedicated customer service line for the speech and hearing impaired in society. It is exciting to start reaping the fruits of our commitment and actions. This is what we mean when we say “The Future Is Exciting.Ready?”

GECEA is an initiative to honour, reward, inspire and recognise the most successful, hardworking and respectful entrepreneurs, government officials, corporate executives, business executives, who own or manage successful organizations in the private and public sector. The award represents the benchmark of success for entrepreneurs, government officials, corporate executives, and CEOs in Ghana from different sectors.
