Juapong, Feb. 23, GNA - The Volta Star Textiles Limited of Juapong would bounce back stronger by the close of the year, Mr Joseph Amenowode, Volta Regional Minister, has said.
He said this at an outreach programme organized by the North Tongu Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Juapong on Sunday.
He said the establishment of a university in the region was on course.
Mr Joe Gidisu, the Minister of Roads, said the government would redeem its campaign promises and that road projects were being repackaged to be awarded on contract.
He said the government was engaged in "social auditing" of ministries, departments and agencies to know the status of the economy and assured that the benefits would soon begin to trickle down.
Mr Gideon Quarcoo, the Deputy Minister of Communication, said the sector was undergoing transformation to reposition it to lead the country in the global Information, Communication and Technology regimes with value addition to the Ghana Post to provide a one-stop service. Mr Charles S. Hodogbey, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, said the government's "Better Ghana" agenda was achievable when supporters demonstrate the political will to sacrifice for the party. Mr Kwasi Aboagye, Volta Regional Chairman of the NDC, said the innovation would be replicated throughout the region to bring government to the doorstep of constituencies and party foot soldiers.
