We are open for business with Ghana – Malta Chamber of Commerce

Head of Projects and Internationalization at the Malta Chamber of Commerce Lino Mintoff says Malta has its arms wide opened to doing business with Ghana.

Speaking in an interview with GhanaWeb at the second Ghana-Malta Business Forum in Accra, Mintoff said his outfit is interested in enhancing the collaboration between companies of businesses in both countries.

“We are trying to find the suitable partnership with different companies that can either work here in Ghana or Ghanaian companies setting up in Malta.”

He noted that “we have no preferred sector of the economy as we are still trying to create the basis of our relationship.”

Mintoff also indicated that the Malta Chamber of Commerce is prepared to share with Ghana its strides in technology as well as project management.

“I think the first thing that needs to be done is the creation of trust and then we can identify those sectors. For example we have an experienced and robust project management system. Once we build a strong relations we can identify project that both countries can collaborate and work on.” Lino Mintoff indicated.

He further urged Ghanaian companies to take advantage of the new impetus given to Ghana-Maltese relations by the reciprocal high-level visits and invest in Malta.

Ghana Malta Business Forum

Ghana and Malta have signed five Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of partnerships between the two countries.



This signing ceremony took place in Accra when Malta’s Economy and Investment Minister Silvio Schembri, paid an official visit to Ghana, for bilateral talks with Ghana.

The agreements between the governments of Ghana and Malta are on medicine, bilateral air services, , tourism amongst others.

Silvio Schembri, said Ghana must consider Malta as its home in Europe; a partnership of growth and economic prospects.
