Winners of the I-GO GHANA/WhatsYourThing essay competition are having their dreams come through as they tour tourist sites in China. The prize for the competition is a week’s visit to China as part of a youth exchange programme that is being hosted by the China-Asia Economic Association, Anhui Tian Chen Cultural Development Limited Corporation and the Ghanaian Embassy in China in collaboration with Stanbic Bank Ghana. The programme is being organized with the support of the John Agyekum Kufuor and Rebecca Foundations.

The eleven (11) Ghanaian school children between the ages of 12-17 years who left the shores of Ghana on Saturday August 25, 2018 to the People’s Republic, were welcomed by the Ghanaian ambassador to China, HE Mr. Edward Boateng. They are currently visiting major tourists’ attractions such as the Great Wall of China and the Bird Nest Stadium.

The winners are from Ghana International School, Accra; Police C and D Basic School, Airport, Accra; New Oxford International School, Kumasi and Alpha Beta Christian College, Accra. The rest of the schools are Ocanseykope District Authority Basic School, Ada Foah; Mary Mother of Good Counsel, Accra; Maamobi Cluster of Basic Schools; and Calvary Preparatory School, Teshie.

Entries for selection and participation in the cultural exchange programme was open to students from the 30th of July to 7th August 2018. To participate, students had to write or record a video or voice note saying what their thing is.
