The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu has paid a courtesy call on management and staff of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) for the first time.

The visit was aimed at engaging the Muslim community in the port to interact with them, as well as encourage them.

The Chief Imam was accompanied by prominent personalities in the Muslim fraternity and were received by the Director of Tema Port, Edward Osei and management of the port authority.

The Chief IMAM admonished staff of Muslim origin to live in peace and harmony with other religious actors.

He also entreated them to work hard in order to ensure that the authority attained its set goals.

Edward Osei who received the Chief Imam pledged the commitment of the port authority to the Muslim community.

He said the port authority will continue to create an enabling environment so as to generate the needed revenue for the development of the state.
