Mr Simon Agbango Anyan, the District Chief Executive of Bawku West, has appealed to the Assembly and the people in the district to work hard to improve revenue generation this year.
Internal revenue generation, he said, was part of strategies put in place in 2015 to expand development programmes in the area.
Mr Anyan told the GNA in an interview that local revenue mobilization by close of 2014 was GH¢ 170,814.86 which constituted 53 per cent of the target and called for efforts to improve the situation to accelerate development of the district.
According to the DCE, the assembly received GH¢ 1,087.50 on landed property against a target of GHc 2,100, whilst GHc 98,382 was realized from fees and fines against a target of 82,590.

Mr Anya said 2015 was packed with a lot of prospects for the district and called for collaborative efforts to bring more development to the area.
On projects, the DCE outlined a number of projects that were ongoing which when completed would improve livelihoods, notable among them was drilling of 30 boreholes fitted with hand pumps.
He said construction of an office block for the District Health Directorate was on-going under the DACF and two dams were being constructed at Gori Yipaala and Biringu under the Ghana Social opportunities Projects (GSOP).
The DCE said three five-unit market stalls, two five-unit lockable stores and butchers’ shop was also ongoing at Agatusi under the HIPC.
He said democratic local governance could be sustained in a peaceful environment and appealed to the people to remain united and work together in peace to bring development to the people.
