Accra, March 1, GNA - The GSE All-Share Index, the benchmark index of the Accra bourse, jumped up on Thursday, buoyed by gains by Ecobank Ghana and Transol.
The index went up by 10.36 points at 5,055.25 points from 5,044.89 points.
Shares that changed hands were also up at 45,100 from Wednesday's 8,900 with change for the year now standing at 0.98 per cent. Market capitalization closed at 112,791.49 billion cedis from at 112,729.50 billion cedis.
There were seven price changes, all positive. Aluworks Limited gained three cedis at 7,456 cedis, Enterprise Insurance Company (EIC) was one cedi better at 8,866 cedis, ECOBANK Ghana jumped 366 cedis at 14,000 cedis and SG-SSB Bank went up by one cedi at 6,116 cedis.
Patterson Zochonis gained for cedis at 7,105 cedis, Transol gained was 20 cedis better at 1,200 and Anglogold Ashanti Depository Shares also closed 10 cedis better at 3,310 cedis.
