  From Tema Port all the way to Kumasi and beyond, nearly all coconut trees are diseased, affected by the St Paul's wilt disease. The young fruits drop and most trees have no fruit. The crowns of the trees get smaller and smaller until the trees die. Before anyone rushes to plant coconuts, take a look at coconut trees around you. What are the authorities doing about the problem? Do they now have enough disease resistant seedlings for everyone?
