Ghana’s participation underscores its commitment to advancing aviation safety, security, sustainability, and innovation in line with ICAO’s principle of “no country left behind.”

Opening the Assembly, Canada’s Minister of Transport, Steven MacKinnon, emphasised the importance of cooperation, innovation, accessibility, and sustainability in the aviation industry.

He reaffirmed Canada’s dedication to promoting strong safety, security, and inclusion across the sector.

Ahead of the Assembly, delegates also took part in the ICAO Innovation Fair (September 21–22), held under the theme “Global Horizons: Inclusive Innovations for Aviation.”

The fair highlighted transformative technologies and inclusive solutions aimed at strengthening the future of global aviation.

Speaking during the Assembly, Joseph Bukari Nikpe reiterated Ghana’s resolve to play an active role in shaping the aviation sector.

“Ghana remains committed to working with ICAO and the global aviation community to ensure that safety, security, and sustainability are at the heart of our aviation development. We believe that no nation should be left behind in shaping the future of air transport, and Ghana will continue to contribute actively to this shared vision,” he stated.
