The Board and Senior Management of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) have successfully concluded a nationwide tour and inspection of all regional airports, marking a strong start to activities for 2026.

The purpose of the tour was to conduct a comprehensive needs assessment of airport operations across the regions and to engage key stakeholders at the regional level.

As part of the exercise, the Board and Management paid courtesy calls on Regional Ministers and toured airport facilities with them.

During the inspections, the issue of land encroachment affecting some regional airport lands was identified, particularly in Wa, Sunyani, and Kumasi. In response, GACL sought the support and intervention of the respective Regional Ministers to address these challenges.

In Kumasi, the Board toured the Airport City mixed-use development project with the Ashanti Regional Minister and also participated in a staff engagement session with airport personnel.

The delegation further paid courtesy calls on traditional authorities, including His Royal Majesty Wa Naa, Alhaji Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo VI, and His Royal Majesty The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The regional airport inspections provided Board Members with first-hand insight into the day-to-day operations of the various airports and enabled them to identify and assess the specific operational needs of each facility.

The Board and Management delegation was led by the GACL Board Chairman, James Agalga, Esq., MP for Builsa North, together with the GACL Managing Director, Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare.
