  Engineers & Planners should take over this asset. It is disgraceful that we have mortgaged our inheritance to foreigners for a mess of pottage. Government should strictly enforce the lease terms and hand over the asset to E&P which has the potential to become a Ghanaian multinational mining giant in Africa and beyond.

  So , what is the difference between NPP so called family and friends mantra and the current government family and friends tag, this current administration records are worse than what we saw during the previous administration. And my question to the Mahama’s NDC government and the general public is Ibrahim Mahama the only expert in Engineering in the country? If not, then why is the Mahama government giving all the Gold Mining companies to Ibrahim Mahama as if that is not enough the same Mahama government has also the inshore Oil Contract to E&P which is own by the same Ibrahim Mahama and everybody is silent about it why. When NPP were in power everybody was at their neck but when it comes to NDC all the CSOS, the Clergy and political Prophets are all silent, I pray that one day there shall be a civil war in the Country and see where all these organizations and the political Pastors and Prophets will do. It happened in Liberia so what is going on is not different from what happens in Liberia before the Civil War breaks out. Our problem as Ghanaians is we don’t learn from others mistakes. Civil War is imminent.

  It is mostly sickening to hear some Ghanaians complaining when a state company is being transferred to a Ghanaian company with the capacity and competence to handle.
  If you feel it is about family and friends affairs then bring your company with the competence to contest E&P for that mining company. Petty jealousy, partisan consideration and stupid tribalism is blinding some people in Ghana to think like humans.
  If E&P take over the Damang mines, are they going to employ Chinese or Ghanaians? AND are they going to repatriate any gains made outside the shores of Ghana? It is indeed, high time we started thinking and behaving like humans if we desire any development for our country.

  E&P has the typical problem of corporate governance. The company revolves around him and he is always in arrears with the payment of his workers SNNIT contributions and even complying with the terms and conditions of employment. As for the shady deals at the mineral commission who have become his puppets, the least said about it the better. Ibrahim has always been the problem of Mahama yet he doesn't see at all. NDC will go down if they don't intervene as a party if they want to continue in power.

  The Government of Ghana deliberately refused to renew the mining license of goldfields. It was a back and forth until the Government relented and extended the license for a year. Once the license is not renewed as the govt plans not to, the mine becomes govt property. The lands minister himself said in 2025 that the govt intended to own the mine. But now we are told it might be handed to the Presidents brother!
  In any case if the govt wants to divest its interest, shouldn't it be by competitive bidding?

What sort of proposal was tabled before Goldfields or the Minerals commission? In any case what sort of lease agreement will be signed and for how long will it be granted?
