We lack the discipline in Ghana to ran an airline as business. Just take a look at the fight against Galamsey admist the pervasive role religion plays in the country. This contradiction smacks of the endemic hyporcristy in our public life and business. The reason the former GhanaAirways died was because of the cronynism, underdealings and corruption of its workers and the government officials of the day. This has not changed and will bring any National airline under within two years if not months.

JB, I fully fully agree with you. It will collapse the very year it will be launched. Our politicians will mess it up big time just like the two previous ones. We all saw how government officials (especially our former first lady) would delay the flight and threaten to deal with the captain should he dare leave her behind. Some of us saw how the Accra New York and Accra London routes would be full of relatives of government officials who showed utmost disrespect to airline officials especially with their excess baggage and would refuse to pay for it. If the airline officials insisted, phone calls from "above" would send shivers down the spine of those airline officials who were threatened with dismissal. Airline rules were broken like there was no tomorrow. I was with Lufthansa German Airlines and I know what I am talking about. There were times not a single foreigner was on board the flight because of massive indiscipline and especially thefts. Over half of the staff were relatives of government officials and indiscipline was the order of the day!! Side chicks of government officials who were staff of Ghana Airways and stationed at the airport would misbehave and piss off passengers who would swear to never patronize the airline again. Fellow Ghanaians, it was a total disaster! The collapse was imminent and not a surprise at all. Many of us saw it coming. It will take a book to narrate the rot some of us witnessed!!!

Look at what the Ethiopians are doing, the biggest hydroelectric dam in Africa, the biggest airline in Africa, the biggest airport in Africa currently under construction. It's just an avenue to create loot and share. Remember Sky Train, there are more. We are just greedy and have no nation at heart. We will set it up and government officials will flight it and not pay. Girlfriend and always will use on credit, it will be family and friends and later we will declare losses and the stories will continue.
Did we punish anyone for the collapse of Ghana Airways, NO. So how different will the story be. Let's use the money for something else or just share it like as usual cos we know that is what Ghana is know for and after WE CRY

Sometimes I wonder if we really think thru issues before we put the pen on paper or it's just politics. What are the lessons learnt from Ghana Airways infact am going to far, what are the lessons learnt from mismanaging METRO MASS, STC, and RAILWAYS.
We have played politics an ground nor we want to go into the air. Just recently in Ejisu both NDC Regional Women's Organa and MCE fighting over government warehouse usage. Then this airline dier people will lock it like they lock Public Toilet after change of government and later apologize n CRY
