  This rent control thing can have an illegal side to it. There are and have always been agreements between landlord and tenant that can be for any period of time. If between the two parties, they both want an agreement, say for 5, 10, 20 etc years, on what basis can anyone say you can't do that? That's no sense. The authorities need to understand that there are different types of renting and property rented. Not every rental is a " hall and chamber" type,
