  Indeed it’s true that most Ghanaians do not save enough towards their pension/retirement.
  Many reasons can be attributed to this unfortunate situation.
  1. Poor monthly wages and incomes. Not even enough to last for one week.
  2. Poor contributions by the employers of most poor workers
  3. Poor investment opportunities by SSNIT and the other Pension//Mutual Fund Companies
  4. Rapid depreciation of the cedi in relation to other major currencies
  5. Where the poor worker is even able to save something small, the INTEREST on their savings is so pathetic. One bank gave ME an interest of Ghc 0.99 on my savings, and deducted Ghc10.00 from my savings for informing me electronically. Sad.
  6. DDEP, etc… simply mess up your meagre investments.
  HOW CAN YOU SAVE ADEQUATELY TOWARDS YOUR RETIREMENT ???
