Despite KGL's contributions to Ghana's lottery ecosystem, there have been several attempts by its opponents to deliberately undermine its image, a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra has said.
The statement urged the media to comprehensively investigate the operations, management, and administration of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) to ascertain the real challenges contributing to its revenue problems.
According to the statement, apart from the thousands of Lotto Marketing Companies that work directly for the NLA in exchange for a 25 per cent commission on gross revenue generated, and Technical Service Providers such as Lots-Services Ltd and Simnet Ghana Ltd, the NLA, in its efforts to generate revenue for the State and in accordance with its mandate under Act 722, has also issued licences to a number of collaborators and private lotto operators.
These include KGL Technology Limited, Onassis Sports Limited, Alpha Lotto Ltd, Game Park Ltd, ENF Technology, Fortune Synergy, Afrilotto Systems Ltd, Blue Star Hi-Tech Co. Ltd, Luma Facilities Trading Ltd, Zeta Technologies Ltd, Global Fun, Luckweb, Wotriye, Fora Ltd, Wulucky Ghana Ltd, Lotto and Lotteries Company Ltd, Accurate Giant Company Ltd, Zinbax Construction Ltd, From Home Company Ltd, Obiri Asare and Sons Ltd, Glovita Lottery Ltd, Rand Lottery Ltd, Sadaco-Hope Lottery Ghana Ltd, Zacdow Company Ltd, Miwor Kakra Yebedi Nti Ltd, Makafui Mogyi Ltd, Super 4 Intelic Ltd, Obeng Asare and Sons Ltd, Vision 2000 Lotto Company Ltd, SB Business Ventures, Best Chance Lottery Company, Diblo Lotto, and Wulucky Ltd-6/59.
The statement noted that almost all the companies licensed by the NLA have valid contracts spanning between 10 and 15 years.
“From the 33 private companies mentioned, together with various Lotto Marketing Companies Associations and unlicensed private lotto operators, it is absurd for anyone to conclude that KGL is enjoying a monopoly at the NLA,” the statement said.
It listed the amounts paid to the NLA by the licensed companies during the 2025 financial year, including:

According to the statement, the data showed that none of the 29 licensed collaborators and private lotto operators came close to matching KGL's revenue contribution to the NLA.
“The total amount of revenue paid by the 29 companies to the NLA in 2025 was GH¢44,900,161.23 (approximately GH¢44.9 million), far below the GH¢173,360,000 (over GH¢173 million) paid by KGL alone in the same period,” it stated.
“During the investigation, it was discovered that three private lotto operators—SB Business Ventures, Best Chance Lottery Company, and Diblo Lottery—are yet to make payments to the NLA for the 2025 financial year.”
The statement further argued that facts and data published by the Auditor-General and the Ghana Audit Service do not support claims that Ghana was losing GH¢1 billion or GH¢3 billion annually because of the NLA-KGL contract.
“It is really absurd for more than 30 private lotto operators and collaborators, with contracts spanning 10 to 15 years, to generate only GH¢44.9 million for the NLA within the 2025 financial year.
“KGL alone cannot continue to bear the burden of making huge payments to both the NLA and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). The entire lottery industry requires serious reforms, including amendments to Act 722 and L.I. 1948. Targeting only KGL is unfair.”
