Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba is a former CEO of National Food Buffer Stock Company
The Office of the Attorney General (AG) has reportedly filed an application asking the court to set aside its order allowing the former Chief Executive Officer of the National Food Buffer Stock Company, Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba, who is being prosecuted for various crimes, to travel to the United Kingdom (UK) for medical treatment.
This comes after Aludiba was arrested at the Accra International Airport about three days ago over an alleged attempt to use false means to access funds in one of his bank accounts frozen due to the ongoing case.
An update on the case shared on the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Facebook page on July 8, 2026, indicated that the AG's office filed the application over fears that the former Buffer Stock CEO has no plan to return to the country due to the latest development.
“The application has been necessitated by material facts and subsequent developments that came to the attention of the prosecution after the court granted the travel request. These developments, in the Attorney General’s considered view, fundamentally alter the basis upon which the court exercised its discretion.
“Facts deposed to in the affidavit in support of the application reveal that the first accused allegedly attempted to rely on an order of a differently constituted High Court in separate proceedings to access funds held in bank accounts that remain subject to valid freezing orders obtained by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO); an act which violates Section 37 of the Economic and Organised Crime Act, 2010 (Act 804),” part of the update reads.
It added, “The relevant financial institution declined the attempted withdrawal and notified the investigative authorities. This attempted withdrawal occurred shortly before the first accused was due to depart Ghana, raising legitimate concerns regarding compliance with existing court orders, the integrity of the ongoing criminal proceedings, and the risk that the accused may fail to return to stand trial if permitted to leave the jurisdiction.”
The AG argued that the judge hearing the case permitted Aludiba to travel before the latest development.
“It is the position of the Attorney General that these material facts, which were not before the Court when the travel order was made, may materially influence the Court’s decision regarding its order granting leave for the first accused to travel outside the jurisdiction.”
The update also indicated that Aludiba has been granted bail following his rearrest by the Economic and Organised Crime Office at the airport when he was about to leave Ghana.
