GIMPA alumnus urges graduates to support institution’s development

An alumnus of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Konu Selorm Gbeckor-Kove, has called on fellow graduates of the institution to actively support its development, describing the alumni-led Give Back initiative as an opportunity to strengthen GIMPA’s legacy.

According to him, the institution has played a significant role in shaping his academic and professional journey, making it important for alumni to contribute to its continued growth.

He made the remarks on Monday, July 13, 2026, during the commissioning of GIMPA’s new reception facility, which was funded by the institution’s alumni.

“I think it’s a great honour to be part of this Give Back project, and being an alumnus and knowing how GIMPA has impacted my life today, I’m very grateful to have been part of this project,” he said.

Gbeckor-Kove encouraged other alumni to view the initiative as the beginning of a broader commitment to promoting and supporting the institution.

“I think what I would say to the rest of the community out there who have gone through GIMPA is that they should see this as a stepping stone and also a leverage to go out there and speak about GIMPA and market it to other people as well because GIMPA is our GIMPA and shall always be our GIMPA,” he stated.

Reflecting on his personal connection with the institution, he noted that GIMPA has remained an integral part of his life after earning both his first and second degrees there.

“I actually had my first and second degrees here at GIMPA, so GIMPA lives in me. I know the culture of GIMPA, and I’m trying to do things better by impacting the public and society,” he said.

He explained that joining the Give Back project was a natural decision because it aligned with his desire to contribute to the institution that helped shape his future.

“I saw it as an opportunity and also a good call to be part of this project,” he added.

The commissioning of the reception facility forms part of the GIMPA Alumni Association’s efforts to support infrastructure development and enhance the learning environment at the institution.
