The Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA) is set to embark on a five-day Regional Investment Roadshow across the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions to promote investment opportunities and attract both domestic and foreign investors.

The roadshow, scheduled for July 27 to 31, 2026, forms part of GIPA's Investment Opportunity Mapping Project (IOMP) and follows similar initiatives held in the Volta, Oti, Western, Central and Ashanti Regions.

The initiative will focus on identifying, validating and packaging investment-ready projects in the three regions, with emphasis on sectors including agribusiness, agro-processing, logistics, eco-tourism, mining-linked value addition and rural industrialisation.

The GIPA team and its partners will engage Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs), traditional authorities, business chambers and local enterprises as part of efforts to turn local economic potential into bankable investment opportunities.

Stakeholder engagements and project showcases will be held in Sunyani in the Bono Region, Techiman in the Bono East Region and Goaso in the Ahafo Region.

The programme will also include courtesy visits to Regional Houses of Chiefs and Regional Ministers, targeted media engagements, project site tours and business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking sessions.

Data from GIPA indicates that the three regions, which were carved out of the former Brong-Ahafo Region, have attracted 57 registered companies with approximately US$383.65 million in foreign direct investment (FDI) between January 1994 and June 2026.

Bono East recorded the highest investment value among the three regions, with US$266.9 million across 15 projects, driven largely by investments in agriculture.

The Bono Region, meanwhile, has attracted the highest number of registered companies, with 32 companies and an investment portfolio valued at US$56.7 million.

Manufacturing, valued at US$29.6 million, and export trading, valued at US$10.1 million, account for a significant portion of the region's investment, particularly in cashew, timber and other agro-processing activities.

Ahafo has attracted US$60.1 million in investment from 10 registered companies, with service-sector investments accounting for US$44.3 million. The investments include activities in manufacturing, mining support services, and building and construction.

GIPA said investors in the three regions come from countries including India, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, China, Lebanon and Australia.

The Authority said the roadshow is expected to help improve the visibility of the three regions as viable investment destinations while strengthening investor confidence in opportunities outside Ghana's major urban centres.

Through project exhibitions, pitch sessions and technical guidance, GIPA will support MMDAs, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and community actors to refine their concepts into investment proposals backed by data and local insights.

The Authority also aims to build a verified pipeline of investment-ready projects and an investment intelligence database covering opportunities across the three regions.

GIPA said it would collaborate with institutions including the Office of the Chief of Staff, the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat, Regional Co-ordinating Councils, the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry (MOTAI), the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI), the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) and the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA).

Following the roadshow, GIPA will work with partner institutions to track investor interest, support due diligence and advance negotiations to ensure that identified investment opportunities translate into concrete investments, job creation and increased value addition.

The initiative forms part of the broader IOMP, which seeks to reposition Ghana's regions as competitive investment hubs and promote sustainable economic development at the subnational level.
