Late Ghanaian innovator willed 60% of his estate to orphans - Daughter reveals

Former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has disclosed that her late father, Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, allocated 60% of his estate to orphaned children who dedicated their lives to serving him and supporting the work of the Kristo Asafo Mission.

Speaking on Eyewitness News on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, she said the late Apostle left behind a valid will that clearly outlined how his assets should be shared.

She mentioned that the distribution reflected her father’s wishes and should be respected.

She explained that the beneficiaries were not house helps, as some have claimed, but orphans whom her father raised and regarded as his own children because of their loyalty and contribution to his ministry.

According to her, many of them and their families played significant roles in helping to establish the Kristo Asafo Mission in Ghana.

Adwoa Safo said her father intentionally set aside the larger portion of his estate for the orphans as part of his lifelong commitment to caring for vulnerable people.

She added that the contents of the will came as a surprise to one of her brothers, who had expected to inherit everything but discovered that non-biological children had also been named as beneficiaries.

“He opens the will, and now he is disappointed because people who are not biological children of my father have been mentioned. My father gives 60% to them. These are children who are orphans, who served him, whose parents helped him to establish the Kristo Asafo Mission in Ghana,” she said

“He treated them equally as his children, and now my brother is disappointed because he thought he had everything under his control, ” she added.

She argued that anyone seeking control over any part of the estate must rely on the provisions contained in the will.

Her comments come amid ongoing disagreements over the funeral arrangements for the late founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission.

While the church has stated that it had not been officially informed of any agreed funeral or burial plans, Adwoa Safo maintained that preparations are on course.

She said the funeral will commence on Thursday, July 30, with other activities to follow, adding that she remains committed to giving her father a befitting farewell despite the disagreements surrounding the arrangements.
