The prices of tricycles in Ghana depend on the model, engine size, condition and features, however, motorised tricycles have become common in Ghana.

Many people use them for transport and business, especially in towns where taxis and buses are scarce.

Motor King, also called Aboboyaa, is mainly used to carry goods.

Farmers, traders, waste collectors and delivery businesses use them to transport items.

A new 150cc Motor King costs about GH¢23,000 to GH¢26,000.

The 175cc model sells for about GH¢25,000 to GH¢28,000, while the 200cc model costs between GH¢25,000 and GH¢32,000.

The heavy-duty 250cc Motor King costs about GH¢35,000 to GH¢40,000.

Models with hydraulic tipping systems can cost between GH¢40,000 and GH¢45,000.

Pragya is the popular name used for passenger tricycles in Ghana.

Common models include the Bajaj RE and TVS King. A new Bajaj RE costs about GH¢38,000 to GH¢45,000.

The TVS King and TVS King Deluxe cost between GH¢40,000 and GH¢48,000.

Larger seven-seater models can cost about GH¢50,000 to GH¢55,000, while some electric Pragya models are advertised at around GH¢37,000.

Meanwhile used Bajaj and TVS tricycles are cheaper.

They can cost between GH¢12,500 and GH¢38,000, depending on their age and condition.

Kantanka has also introduced the Boafo, also known as the Aboboyaa.

The vehicle has a maximum load capacity of 1,500kg and comes with a hydraulic-controlled tipping cargo bed for commercial use.

Buyers are advised to inspect used vehicles with a trusted mechanic and confirm that all registration and ownership documents are genuine before making payment.
