Tigo to operates a new rural wireless network in Ghana

Tigo Ghana has launched a new wireless network to provide mobile voice and broadband services to rural areas. The solar-powered satellite-backhauled network is funded by the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), an implementing agency of the Ministry of Communications set up by the government to facilitate the provision of access to internet connectivity and communications infrastructure to under-served and un-served areas of the country.
