COTE' D V?I RE is well developed not by the government only but by mainly the private sector .remember government don't create jobs private sector ?o that's why America is strong. Ghanaian people needs more private investers to build our infrastructure such electricity water and sewer. That will stop power outage, water shortage and also flooding Ghanaian people needs more education on this subject.

It is sad that some suspected criminals on government are enslaving millions of people for only GHC20 over 25 years or so instead of solving the problems or seeking advice from intelligent people like myself. What kind of wickedness is this and what kind of ignorant people are being enslave with closed mouth? I see the reasons for absolute poverty in Africa including Ghana. The population of Ghana is about 25 million, meaning that to sell ECG for only $500M.
Ass suggestion, to recoup this $500Million for managing the company without selling it for 25 years, Homes that can afford maybe recommended to pay a subsidized bill for say 1 year at discount of about 50% as an incentive to generate funds to manage the company.

Once upon a time Ghana had a God sent prophet in the name of Kwame Nkrumah who prophesied neo-colonialism and the way it works but we paid no heed to his message. Today we are suffering the consequences of our own folly. When will Ghanaians/Africans learn to think of our interest first? Never sign a pact with the devil you know. Because as they say the devil never sleeps and as usual the devil is always in the sordid details.
We sold our communication sector to Vodafone. As I write, Vodafone and a host of this tech companies like MTN etc. are siphoning huge millions of dollars each month out of the country one of the reasons why our cedi lost it value. We are now going to sell energy and water to foreigners for peanuts due to a few belly thinkers whose horizon about the future reaches only the tip of their flat noses. I think we are heading for self made disaster. This is national political suicide or felo de se as it is known in legal terms.
What is a nation worth if your source of communication, energy and water which is our lifeblood is the hands of foreign operators? It does not take a rocket scientist to find this out. And what if we opt out in a few years?! Another judgement debt of unforeseen consequences because we got lost in the details? No, nobody today can tell the good people of Ghana that they could not anticipate the results. A little bit of risk analysis will do the trick. However, the greatest trick America ever pulled is convincing the world that their bait and switch capitalism is the best. But that exist only in never-never land.
I bet, soon our security forces (police and Army) will be up for grabs and then we will be back to square one. Another fight for independence?
Oman Ghana don't fall for this bait and let no one put us under duress. If we permit it then we cannot turn around and say the White man is exploiting us. We don't have to give them the promissory note in the first place. If we do, it is recipe for disaster. God help our homeland Ghana and save us from a few greedy bastards. Africa Must Unite.

0244908520particular culture, religion, or philosophy. From there a Satanist uses those images against the ethos itself, that was once his own conditioning. Persons who participate in traditional Satanic masses sometimes experience a king of 'sartori', a sudden enlightenment, to an increase in their own consciousness, and feeling stronger and satisfied because they had broken with the constraining opposites. In other words, at its highest level Satanism uncovers what the ethos of a particular community or society has covered up through images, dogma, words and ideas, returning the individual to the primal chaos out of which 'opposites' were created." ~ Magister Hagur, Temple of Atazoth Office

Your Excellency Ambassador Jackson you are truly a good man with good intentions. But why are you the " Good Samaritan" selling this ECG Distribution divestiture or concession as you describe it? Where is the Ghana Goverinment in convincing their citizens that this project is a very good deal for them? The truth is they know a large portion of the electorate do not believe it is a good deal . Right or wrong! It is a bit false to assume the workers are holding the project at random. They are a proxy for a large section of the Ghanaian power consumers, especially the urban electorate . And where is the business community in Ghana who stand to benefit in better power distribution in selling this project? The are factors you may not understand. First is the dependency and big brother mindset of a large section of Ghanaians. They prefer a government entity as an employer and provider of services however inefficient than a private one. Second they did not see any appreciable difference in their lives from previous divestiture programs from Nkrumah GiHOC. A lot of workers lost their jobs. Forget that that industrial development model has collapsed in Russia, China and Eastern Europe where some of the current political elite were trained. There are a lot of Cuban mindset around. Listen to Kwesi Pratt , a so called independent Snr. Journalist on radio always referencing 5 and 7 year development plans of Nkrumah and how excited some have become with the revival of failed state enterprises. There is still a large segment of Ghanaians who believe you can get something for free especially if it is from the government. Free enterprise and surviving based on pulling your own bootstraps is not in the majority. So Chiefs beg for developments projects from politicians in their areas and gifts like SUVs during election years .
My suggestion is that MiDA push this project key decisions forward to 2017 after the elections. The rational mind see this project as good longer term but the timing for final decision may not be right.
Nkrumah said Ghansians would prefer to handle their own affairs than being serfs to foreigners in peace. The good intentions of your government and the American taxpayer notwithstanding , if Ghanaians choose to sleep in darkness, allow them that choice. Long live Ghana and Anerican peoples friendship !!!

Typical American Aid, IMF and World Bank "conditionality". Sell your public assets e.g. ECG(real source of revenue from electricity bills for Ghana) to a private company or allow them to "manage" it. All the profits from ECG will be sent back to the country of the private company "managing" ECG. Ghana's current account will get worse because the money will be sent back in scarce forex eg. dollars. We then have to go back to the IMF to beg for a another bailout. This is the vicious cycle Ghana is in. Wake up Ghanaians. List ECG on the Ghana stock exchange for Ghanaians to buy so that the profits can stay in Ghana for our development.

ONE CLASSROOM ONE PROJECTOR, ONE SCHOOL ONE POWER GENERATING PLANT, ONE CLASS IN A SCHOOL UNDER TREES ONE TAPOLYNE TENT: Mahama should as well implement the following 3 policies: (A). ONE CLASSROOM ONE PROJECTOR (B). ONE SCHOOL ONE POWER GENERATIING PLANT (C). ONE CLASS UNDER TREES ONE TAPOLYNE TENT. Obviously, the One Student One Tablet is a hoax. It is another opportunity for Mahama to enrich RG Electronics, his bosom friend Agambila's company. 1. They will double or even triple the prices of the tablets/ 2. Do we have electricity supply constant to warrant tablets use in schools? 3. Is Mahama and NDC going to provide One Classroom One Projector too? 4. Will the computer laboratories be used in the schools after students get the tablets? 5. Will the tablets be free or the students will pay for it? 6. Will teachers also be given the tablets? 6. Will Mahama provide EVERY class in schools under trees with Projectors too?
7. Will Mahama and NDC also provide EVERY JHS AND SHS with ONE Electricity Generating Plant too to provide electricity for teachers to use projectors (ONE CLASSROOM ONE PROJECTOR)as they try to implement their infeasible, create loot & share ONE STUDENT ONE TABLET policy? Mahama and NDC have no credible policies and programmes to move Ghana forward in educational and economic development. In the NDC manifesto highlights, there is NOTHING on boosting manufacturing industries and job creation.
CONCLUSION: This One Student One Tablet policy/mantra WILL NOT WORK in Ghana. Cape Coast University is attempting to implement it for their Distance Learning Programme WITHOUT SUCCESS. Their distance learning students still carry ALL their textbooks with them to Tutorial Sessions at their designated campuses. Mahama and HDC are JOKERS.

While I'll be the read off and recount some of the things that makes the USA great, the one thing I caution the current US Ambassador on is to stay clear of Ghana politics.
Pardon me to give Ambassador Jackson a few historical, moral or principled lessons. It was with the help of the US government via the CIA NPP's forefathers overthrew the legitimate government of Kwame Nkrumah; America did not stay around to pump US$1 or 2 billion into the Ghana economy to shore it up or stabilize the chaos they help bring about in Ghana. The same US that could not and did not put money into African nations they helped destroy politically have pumped trillions of US dollars to stabilize Afghanistan, Iraq and others just as long as those nations are not black nations. History cannot repeat itself with people who learn from past mistakes. Ghana's electricity production and distribution did not have to get to this messy level for the US government or a US-based outfit to buy it since it was and is the US government who helped destroy Ghana in 1966.
