The President and CEO of Groupe Ideal, Dr Kotei Dzani has bemoaned the rising spate of unprofessional media practices that have taking over Ghanaian media landscape recently.

He has therefore called on Ghanaian and African media journalists to exhibit high level of responsibility, fairness and accuracy in line of their duties in reporting the news.

Dr Kotei who doubles as the board chair of TV Africa was speaking at a ceremony to launch the re-branded TV Africa in Accra on Friday after a sealed partnership with Groupe Ideal.

The Groupe CEO who was not happy about some fallen standards in the media described the status-quo as ‘unprofessional and lazy’ way of making news by some Ghanaian journalists and said “the media owe the public a great deal of credibility in giving out transparent and accurate information”.

He therefore cautioned media practitioners to desist from skewing and distorting information to suit their affiliate political parties.

"The new TV Africa has been redesigned and packaged to suit and champion ethical and the highest media professionalism in Ghana and Africa.

It is also our vision to move TV Africa to a level that will inspire pride in all Ghanaians and to ensure that TV Africa becomes comparable to the likes of CNN and BBC in terms of reach and quality in terms of journalism." Dr Kotei assured.

On his part, the founder of TV Africa Mr. Kwaw Ansah said the new TV Africa will be the only credible television station to rely on for all information and well packaged educative programmes and news promoting and being guided by African values.

It was a spectacular sight to behold on the night at the Kempinski Hotel when officials finally unveiled the new TV Africa's rebranded image.

The event was chaired by Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie of the Ga Traditional Council.

The television station was founded by legendary Ghanaian Movie Producer, Kwaw Ansah, 13-years ago.
