The Ghana Trade Fair Company Limited has launched the 22nd Ghana International Trade Fair in Accra.

Deputy Minister for trade in industry, Carlos Ahenkorah who launched the fair noted that the fair is hinged on government’s One District One Factory policy which seeks to “enhance one economically viable enterprise in each of the District of Ghana”.

He said the policy is meant to enhance the economic potentials, create import substitutes, create products for exports, check rural-urban migration and create jobs in each District adding that “any activity which enhances this particular programme for me is welcomed”.

The 22nd Ghana International Trade Fair will offer the opportunity for exhibitors to introduce their brands and products to emerging and existing companies currently enrolled in the 216-district industrialisation programme and many others.

Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Trade Fair Company Limited, Dr Agnes Adu said the 22nd Ghana International Trade Fair will provide a platform for local and global companies to interact and network to form lasting partnerships.

She said the Ghana Trade Fair Company Limited has partnered with several institutions such as the One District One Factory secretariat and the Ghana at 60 Committee to make the 22nd Ghana International Trade Fair bigger than previous years.

Dr Adu also announced that the Trade Fair Company Limited and the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the will embark on rebuilding the Trade Fair centre in the next few years.

She said the rebuilding of the facility is to help “make Ghana Trade Fair Centre the trade hub in West Africa and the preferred trading destination for our global partners”.

The 22nd Ghana International Trade Fair will be held at the Ghana International Trade Fair Centre from the 28th of February to the 7th of March 2018 under the theme “Industrialising Ghana, Creating Jobs”.
