London Chamber of Commerce to visit Ghana

Accra, March 5, GNA - The London Chamber of Commerce and Industry would visit Ghana from 12 -16 March 2005 with participants having a range of objectives including looking for local business partners, marketing new products or appointing distributors or agents. Some would be researching the market, others will be building on existing contacts and all will be looking to make new contacts, the British High Commission announced on Friday.

A statement from the High Commission said the group of 29 British Companies would be led by Mr Craig Pym.

"The large size of the mission represents the significant level of interest in doing business in the market and reflects the strong business links between Britain and Ghana."

The statement quoted Mr Pym as saying: "We are looking forward to our trade mission to Ghana and we are intent on developing the existing relationships we have with Ghanaian companies as well as making new contacts and forging new partnerships. We are very optimistic for the future prospects for Ghana and for the continuation of the excellent relationship UK industry has with Ghana."

The statement said the companies on the mission represent a wide range of sectors including both industrial and consumer products and services.

The mission participants include manufacturers of electrical equipment, power generating products, air conditioners, storage tanks, pesticides, agricultural machinery, laboratory equipment, lightning protection systems and electronic maintenance and repair products. Other companies are promoting food flavourings and colouring, dairy products, mobile phones, soaps, candles, cards and gifts. The services being promoted include security, legal, financial, training and management systems, community development and project development.
