FDB bans production of two brands of filtered water

Kumasi, Aug 22, GNA - The Ashanti and Brong Ahafo Zone Office of the Food and Drugs Board (FDB) has banned the production of George Baryeh Filtered Water produced by George Baryeh Company Limited and Petal Filtered Water produced by Petilinda Executive Lodge. A statement issued in Kumasi on Monday and signed by Mr Joseph B. Bennie, Zonal Officer of FDB, said the products had not been registered with the board.

It said conditions under which these products were manufactured could not support the production of any quality products. The board has consequently asked the manufacturers to withdraw the two products immediately from the retail trade until it is satisfied with the quality and safety management schedules in their production premises.

It advised the consuming public, especially residents of Ashanti and Brong-Ahafo regions, to desist from patronising and consuming George Baryeh Filtered Water and Petal Filtered Water.
