Predictions based on the confirmed COVID-19 cases before the stay at home policy by the government of Ghana shows that the observed cases might be worst without the policy.
This shows that the policy might be achieving its aim of slowing the spread of the novel coronavirus as the observed cumulative cases reported after the policy went into effect is lower than the predictions assuming no stay at home policy.
President Akufo-Addo on March, 15, 2020 imposed a ban on all public gatherings including conferences, workshops, funerals, festivals, political rallies and church activities and related events as part of measures to stop the spread of Coronavirus in the country.
This ban has, however, been extended by another two weeks due to the increasing number of recorded cases in the country.
Ghana has confirmed 408 cases of the novel Coronavirus.
So far 8 regions out of the 16 regions in the country have recorded cases of the coronavirus with 8 deaths.
Regions that have reported cases are Greater Accra, Ashanti, Central, Eastern, Northern, North East, Upper East and Upper West.
