The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has registered 69 local companies that are producing face masks in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the FDA, Mrs. Delese Mimi Darko, has said
She revealed that these companies, all privately-owned, were charged GHS250 each for the registration.
She told GH One’s Ridwan Karim Dini Osman in an interview that: “As at yesterday we have registered 69 companies.
“Four are doing face shields locally.”
She added; “With the registration process we are trying to do it in 48 hours. From the time you submit the mask to the time you get the report is usually 48hrs or even less. We ask them to bring 12 samples of the masks”
Regarding the fees, she said: ““The registration process if it’s for a large scale is GH¢250 for year”
