The adoption of enterprise architecture framework has been proposed to both public and private entities as a preferred Information Technology (IT) solution to ensure businesses continue to strike the right balance between cost optimisation, risk management, and improved capacity for innovation.
Solomon Adiyiah, Chief Executive Officer of eSolutions Consulting -- a business and IT company set up to help firms improve performance through innovative solutions, explained that adopting enterprise architecture has enormous advantages targetted at helping to grow businesses in the country.
He said having an enterprise architecture model in an organisation will improve adaptability to changing demands and market conditions, elimination of inefficient and redundant processes, optimisation in the use of organisational assets, and minimisation of employee turnover.
“Enterprise architecture solutions are built on belief that the key to success for any organisation is an efficient, well-executed operating model with broader operational governance strategy.”
He observed that technology adoption among some Ghanaian businesses has been a major problem, and business leaders need a paradigm-shift in their business model to take advantage of the modern technology.
Mr. Adiyiah made this proposal in Accra during an official launch of the company’s latest IT solution platform christened ‘Smart Workplace’, which has been developed to reduce the time spent by employees searching for information and provides a single access point to all resources an employee needs for daily tasks and to work efficiently.
The IT solutions built on Microsoft platforms, seeks to reduce cost and increase employee efficiency and productivity by providing common access to company information among employees.
It is targetted at providing employees with a highly efficient work environment characterised by convenient self-service access enterprise search, document management, project monitoring, and business processing among others.
“Smart Workplace product is the best IT solution designed to help office staff have life easier at the workplace, and it can be linked to things like projects, cases, pictures,” he said. “It is an attractive and extensive concept.
“Most organisations in today’s business world are faced with daunting challenges in delivering business information to virtual organisations anytime, anywhere and on any device -- hence the Smart Workplace platform.
“Employees have great difficulty in locating corporate information on administration, policies, procedures, shared documents, news calendar, and contact details of fellow employees.”
He revealed that most employees spend about 50 percent of their time on internal administrative functions and collaborating with colleagues to accomplish tasks, and this cutting-edge IT platform has come to address these organisational challenges.
Mr. Adiyiah explained that eSolutions is poised to offer sod-cutting IT consulting services to help solve organisational challenges by reducing the use of paper to increase revenue due to improved employee responsiveness to the Smart Workplace platform.

Mr. Gabriel Dela, Senior Consultant at eSolutions in an interview explained that Smart Workplace is aimed at addressing challenges associated with a virtual office. “One does not need to operate in particular building to be productive; it gives a complete platform to every employee to work effectively outside the office or even when travelling abroad. “With the Smart Workplace platform, one’s level of productivity and work space is not tied to a particular office computer; users can gain access to company files and document on the go.
