eTranzact Ghana Limited, a licensed Enhanced Payment Service Provider (PSP) in Ghana, has launched the XCEL Ghana mobile app, aiming to transform how individuals manage their GH-Link prepaid cards and make digital payments through its innovative mobile application.

The interactive mobile application serves as an all-in-one platform, providing users with seamless control over their GH-Link cards while offering a host of convenient financial services.

The Chief Executive Officer of eTranzact Ghana, Dr. John Apea, delivering remarks at an event in Accra on September 20, 2024, mentioned that the XCEL mobile app aims to bridge the gap between traditional and digital payments.

"It allows users to continue using their physical GH-Link cards at ATMs and POS terminals while taking advantage of an array of digital payment options directly through the app," Dr. Apea explained.

He pointed that the XCEL Ghana mobile app enables users to easily transfer funds between their bank accounts, mobile wallets, and XCEL accounts, providing flexibility in managing personal finances.

“The app's "Pots" feature helps users allocate dedicated funds for specific financial goals, such as saving for emergencies or special purchases. This makes saving easy and helps users stay on track with their financial objectives,” he noted.

Dr. John Apea also mentioned features like "Give" that allows users to donate to charitable causes directly from the app, adding that contributions can be made as one-time donations or set up on a recurring basis.

“With XCEL, users can quickly top up mobile airtime and data plans, ensuring they stay connected with just a few taps. The app also supports payments for utility bills, such as electricity and water, as well as entertainment subscriptions like DStv and GOtv. Bulk payment options are also available, making it easy for businesses to manage salaries and vendor payments,” Apea told journalists on the sidelines of the event in an interview.

Additionally, the Group CEO and founder of eTranzact Global who is also the visionary behind the XCEL mobile app, Valentine Obi, said the marketplace feature provides a secure platform for buying and selling goods and services, ranging from electronics and fashion to home goods.

He emphasised the app's convenience and flexibility as it makes managing GH-Link cards and digital payments simple, allowing users to make payments, transfer funds, and pay bills all from one app.

“The app accommodates a variety of payment methods, allowing users to manage finances through mobile wallets, bank accounts, or a combination of both,” Valentine Obi said.

He added that, “XCEL prioritises user security by employing advanced encryption technology to safeguard personal data and financial transactions.

Furthermore, the XCEL Ghana app will deliver up-to-date news and job opportunities, helping users stay informed and connected to the employment market.
