Ten persons have been defrauded various sums of money totaling GHC25,750.00 after they were promised of recruitments into the various security agencies in the country.

The cover of the extortionists was blown when they failed to honour their part of the bargain resulting in the involvement of the police.

A staff of the Ghana Immigration Service training school at Assin Fosu Godfred Mensah, 44 and Eric Marfo a resident of Akim Oda in the Eastern region, have been arrested in connection with the latest recruitment scam and are assisting the police in their investigations.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Yaw Nketia Yeboah who confirmed the arrest of the duo to Koforidua-based Bryte Fm, revealed that the first accused, Godfred Mensah succeeded in taking a total of GH¢ 8,100.00 from his victims, with the assurance they would be considered for enlistment.

His accomplice Eric Marfo, proved his superiority in the recruitment scam having managed to raise GHC17,650.00 from his victims including from Frank Agyemang, Esther Binney, Kwesi Yeboah, Maxwell Botwe and Emmanuel Sekyere

The police administration has accordingly cautioned the public to be wary of persons who go round promising the unsuspecting public especially the youth, of recruitment into the various security establishments.
