Suspected landgauards in police custody
The Kasoa-Akweley District Court in the Central Region, presided over by Ama Adomako-Kwakye, has remanded 13 suspected landguards and self-styled sub-chiefs into police custody.
Two others were granted bail, each with a condition of GH¢40,000 and one surety.
The suspects were charged with causing damage, fear, and panic, insecurity and disturbing the peace in the Gomoa Nyanyano community.
Their lawyer pleaded for bail, citing family and health concerns, but the court granted bail to only two.
The 13 remanded suspects will reappear in court on February 6, 2025.
