13-year-old boy allegedly kills sister

A 13-year-old boy has allegedly shot his 8-year-old little sister dead at Mamponteng in the Kwabre East municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The incident occurred on Sunday, 6 October 2019 when the teenager and the now-deceased visited their grandfather over the weekend.

The suspect, name withheld, and the deceased, Princess Owusu Ansah, were playing with their grandfather's locally-made gun which was allegedly loaded with bullets at the time.

The suspect pulled the trigger and killed his little sister instantly, Assembly member for the area, Joseph Appiah Kubi told Kumasi FM's Elisha Adarkwah.

The grandfather, Kofi Attah, 75, has been arrested by the Mamponteng District police command.

The suspect is also in the custody of the police.

The police have since commenced investigations into the case.
