Ho, Jan. 17, GNA- A 14 year old mother, told the Ho Circuit Court on Monday that she strangulated her three months old baby girl to hasten the process of going back to school.
The accused, a primary six pupil at Anyirwase near Ho, pleaded guilty for murder and was remanded in Police custody to re-appear in Court on January 31 this year.
Presenting the facts, Inspector Emmanuel Okudzeto told the Court presided over by Mr Emmanuel Siame, on January 4, this year, the accused left to the farm and returned the following day with the excused that her baby whom she had placed under a palm-tree was missing. Inspector Okudzeto said, a search party found the baby buried in a shallow grave.
Inspector Okudzeto said the accused was thus arrested and handed over to the Police where she admitted the offence.
