Fifteen persons have so far been arrested by security agencies in Tamale over last week’s violent clashes between ethnic groups in East Mamprusi.

Renewed clashes between the Konkombas and Mamprusis on one side and the Bimobas on the other side resulted in the death of four people.

Some weapons have also been retrieved from arrested suspects.

Investigations are ongoing by the police and local authorities.

District Chief Executive Imoro Adams in an interview with XYZ News said calm has now returned to the area.

According to him, he hopes residents will give peace a chance in order not to threaten their livelihood.
