An 18-year-old man, Mbornlen Abass, also known as Agogo, reportedly hanged himself while in police custody in Bimbilla, Nanumba North District of the Northern Region, according to Citinewsroom.com.

Abass was arrested by the police on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, after an accusation by Pinimkpel Nampar, who claimed Abass had stolen GH¢2,000 from him.

Despite Abass denying the theft, he was kept in a police cell overnight.

The deceased's body was taken to Bimbilla Hospital for preservation. Regional and Divisional Police Commanders visited the scene on Wednesday, June 27.
