A 19-year-old unemployed man has been remanded into prison custody on three charges by the Asante Abuakwa circuit court in the Atwima Nwabiagya South
Municipality.
Aaron Attah pleaded guilty to the charges of unlawful entry, attempted stealing, and causing harm.
He will reappear before the court presided over by Ms Rosemond Dodua Agyiri on December 18, this year.
Presenting facts of the case to the court, Police Detective Inspector
Alexander Agbekpornu said the complainant, Owusu Boakye Yiadom, was a Disc Jockey, residing in Nketia, while the convict resided at Adankwame near Abuakwa.
He said, on December 02, this year, at about 11 hours, the complainant was on his way to work and upon reaching his mother’s house, heard some unusual noise in the house.
The complainant became suspicious, went closer, checked, and saw Attah trying to open the door to the main room, so he stood outside waiting and watching.
The complainant then saw the convict, who descended from the ceiling, trying to escape, so he rushed in to arrest him, but Attah stabbed his right shoulder and stomach with a knife, and he bled profusely.
After that, the convict took to his heels but was chased, and with the help of some neighbours, he was arrested and handed over to the Asuofua police.
The complainant was rushed to the Suntreso government hospital, but he was transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), where he was still
on admission, receiving treatment.
Prosecution said, in a caution statement, the convict admitted the offences.
After further investigations, he was charged and brought before the
court.
