A 20-year-old man, Kwadwo Bright, was fatally stabbed in Ashanti New Town, Kumasi, following a dispute over a plastic chair in the early hours of Thursday, September 4, 2025.
According to a report by myjoyonline.com, the incident stemmed from a quarrel at a snooker game centre, where Kwadwo and a friend, believed to be the attacker, argued over the ownership of a chair.
Eyewitnesses said that although the disagreement was initially resolved, the suspect later confronted Kwadwo and stabbed him in the neck, leading to his death.

“I heard people screaming about a young man being stabbed and rushed to the scene, only to find my son in a critical state. Although the matter was reportedly settled, the suspect later attacked and stabbed Kwadwo in the neck, resulting in his death this morning,” Georgina Yeboah, mother of the deceased is quoted by the reported to have said.

Kwadwo was subsequently rushed to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The police have yet to release an official statement. However, investigations have since commenced to apprehend the suspect.
