Akim Bunso, Oct, 3, GNA - A fifty-nine-year-old tutor of the New Nsutam Presbyterian Secondary School, Mr James Tawiah, nearly met his untimely death when he was attacked by his assailant, Kwaku Ahoku, at Akim Bunso in the East Akim District last Saturday.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at the New Tafo Government Hospital, Mr Tawiah said before the incident, he and his assailant were good neighbours. He said on that day, he saw Ahoku chasing his (Tawiah's) fowl into his room and so he also rushed to his neighbour's house. Before he could reach there, Ahoku had hit the fowl with a club, killing it instantly.

Ahoku, he said, he became offended when he (Tawiah) confronted him over the act and he used the cutlass to inflict multiple wounds on his left hand. Mr Tawiah said he, however, managed to struggle to free himself, while shouting for help until some people came to his aid and rushed him to the hospital, where he was admitted for four days. Meanwhile, Ahoku is helping the Bunso Police in their investigations.
