A 45-year-old man who allegedly failed to account for GHC 23, 160 cedis belonging to Globe Beto Limited, a cosmetic firm in Accra has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court charged with stealing.
Samuel Tetteh Dah now unemployed told the police that he has “used” the money he allegedly stole from his employer.
Dah has since denied the charge of stealing and the court presided over Mrs. Jane Harriet Akweley admitted him to bail in the sum of GHC 30,000.00 with one surety who is gainfully employed.
He is to reappear on January 15, next year.
Prosecuting, Inspector Benson Benneh told the court that the complainant Evelyn Bekpo is the Manageress of Globe Beto Limited, dealers in cosmetic products.
He said Dah is a sales van distributor of the company and responsible for the sale of goods to customers on credit and cash basis and that he renders account to the company’s storekeeper, one Edem Bani, a witness in the case.
Inspector Benneh said during the month of September this year, the storekeeper went through the August accounts of all the sales personnel and detected that the accused person had failed to render account of goods in the sum of GH 23,166 cedis which he had supplied to customers during the month of August, this year.
The Prosecution said when Dah was confronted by the company he could not give any tangible reason so the complainant reported the matter to the Police at Accra Central and the accused was arrested.
Prosecution said in Dah’s investigation cautioned statement he told the Police that he has “used” the money.
