The Adenta District Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old trader for attacking and robbing a woman at Adenta.
Suspect Mahmud Mohammed, in the company of three others, attacked the victim with a machete on November 5, 2015, and made away with home appliances including a cash sum.
Items robbed from the victim included an iPhone, a Samsung flat screen television, a home theatre, two laptops and a cash sum of GH¢500.
Confirming the arrest to DAILY GUIDE, the outgoing Accra Regional Police Commander, DCOP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, said the suspect and his accomplices attacked the victim at her Adenta Sakora residence on November 5, 2015, around 1:15am.
The four, wielding a machete, attacked and robbed the victim of the aforementioned items in the room of the victim who was staying alone.
When the police were informed and they proceeded to the area, the suspects who were then packing the items into a waiting car abandoned the items and bolted.
The suspects abandoned the Toyota Corolla at the house of the victim and left, but information gathered by the police indicated that the vehicle belonged to a car rental company and that they hired and used it for the robbery.
With the help of the company, suspect Mahmud Mohammed was later traced to his hideout at Madina and apprehended.
He has however failed to mention the names of his accomplices but investigations are ongoing.
