Akwasi Adu, who is believed have killed and maimed many people in Sankore in the Asunafo South Constituency of the Brong Ahafo Region, has been remanded into police custody by a Goaso Circuit Court.

The accused person, who committed crimes some time ago and travelled to the house of the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister in Accra to hide in his bedroom, was finally arrested by a combined team of military and police personnel.

He was arrested last Thursday together with five others at their hideout at Sankore at dawn.

They were quickly arraigned before court the next morning.

Other accused persons were identified as Salia aka Jobhene, a brother of Akwasi Adu, Akida and another called 50 Cent.

The names of the rest were not readily available to DAILY GUIDE.

The Goaso Circuit Court, presided over by judge Twumasi, remanded them into police custody to reappear on December 8, while the police continue their investigations

The arrest and prosecution of the suspects were hurriedly carried out so many people did not hear of it, according to residents of Sankore and Goaso.

The NPP parliamentary candidate for Asunafo South Constituency, George Yaw Boakye told DAILY GUIDE that no charges were preferred against them because of further police investigations.

Reports said they were arrested because of the recent attacks on George Yaw Boakye at his residence at Sankore where two supporters of the PC, Kofi Francis and one Taller sustained injuries.

Some others say they were arrested on 24th November and remanded into police custody, but sources at the regional police headquarters in Sunyani also say they were arrested on 16th November and granted bail by the court.
